Equipment: All girls are required to have a stick, mouth guard, protective eye gear, water bottle and sneakers or turf shoes (preferred).
Other Information: Girls will be evaluated on: Individual lacrosse skills (catching, throwing, shooting, ground balls); Field sense in game situations; Attitude and Coachability; and Athletic Ability.
The final number of teams and composition/number of girls per roster will be subject to final registration and skill level demonstrated during the evaluation sessions. Prior year team placements are not a guarantee of 2017 team placement.
"A" Travel teams will be comprised of girls who exhibit the requisite skill level to thrive and succeed at the "A" level. In a change from past practice, the number of girls per Travel team may not be based solely on splitting half the girls per grade across the respective Travel teams. Girls whose individual skill levels require additional development will be selected to a "B" travel team. The sole reason for this is to insure girls are placed in an environment where they can succeed and thrive, and to minimize the discouragement, trepidation and frustration that accompanies playing beyond one's individual skill level.
We look forward to seeing your girls at the evaluations, and are excited for the upcoming start of the 2017 spring season.
