Girls Intramural Lacrosse is designed to teach the fundamental skills and rules of Girls Lacrosse to beginners and novices of the sport while having fun. They will also learn the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship and respect for the game. This program is a great introduction to girls lacrosse for both the players and their families as there is plenty of opportunity for parent participation.
Practice will be held one weekday per week, with an additional practice/scrimmage on Sundays. The practices are designed to be fun and will focus on skill development and understanding the basic rules of the game.
The practice/scrimmage on Sundays will gradually introduce the elements of cross field 7v7 game play, and will increase as the girls gain more experience.
Season runs from early April through eary June
There will be no formal programming the week of spring break or Easter weekend.
Equipment: Girls are required to have their own stick, goggles, mouthpiece and cleats. Pinnies will be provided by the WLA once the season starts.
